Following the recent fuel tank explosion (click here for video), some comments are vital for safety:-
– During any major accident, think to eliminate the danger before helping others.
– If there is a major oil or fuel spillage, stay away and clear everyone.
– Call for help before assisting and remember to safely park away.
– Get pedestrians to clear the area and stay away.
– If possible turn off the ignition because that could be the spark for a fire (which happened in the video).
And remember the triangle of fire, you only need to eliminate one element in order to prevent a fire!
That is why they always advise to close doors and not open windows in case of a fire. That will help contain it.
